3rd - 6th September
Book lovers are invited to Balfron for four days of books, stories and creativity as Balfron Book Festival returns from 3–6 September 2026.
Now in its second year, the festival celebrates the joy of reading and storytelling with a packed programme of author events, creative writing workshops, family storytelling, comic drawing, book-inspired activities and more.
Highlights include award-winning wildlife filmmaker and presenter Gordon Buchanan, Sunday Times bestselling crime author Alex Gray, as well as a host of talented Scottish writers, storytellers and creatives. There’s also plenty for younger visitors, with free events, workshops and activities for children and young people.
Set in the beautiful Stirlingshire village of Balfron, the festival is a great opportunity to discover new stories, meet authors and enjoy a weekend of culture in the heart of the countryside.
